AltJ

Alt-J is an eclectic indie rock band celebrated for their intricate arrangements, unconventional song structures, and genre-blurring sound. Their music is a mosaic of delicate folk influences, experimental electronica, and art rock sensibilities, often paired with cryptic yet evocative lyrics. Characterized by Joe Newman’s distinct, wavering vocals and the band's knack for blending organic and digital textures, their tracks range from hypnotic minimalism to explosive crescendos. Yohji Yamamoto

Balancing poetry with practicality, the collection introduces a lineup of versatile puffer jackets. Inspired by the comfort of a warm embrace, Yamamoto designed these pieces for cold winter nights while intentionally steering away from the typical bulky, oversized silhouette. His goal? To create everyday puffers that exude elegance and sophistication, resembling intricately quilted garments rather than generic winterwear. “Down jackets are often made with polyester and end up looking cheap. I wanted to make something special and refined—but that wasn’t easy,” Yamamoto explains. The designs feature intricate patterns and graphics that evoke the softness of paint drips or wisps of smoke, lending a romantic and enigmatic quality to each piece. These puffers combine sleek, functional warmth with a bold reimagining of winter fashion, redefining what it means to stay stylishly protected from the cold.

Komune

Since opening, we’ve discovered that our audience is much more diverse than we initially expected. Some of our customers are passionate, long-time fans, while others happen upon us by sheer chance. What is Komune’s core message? Our goal is to empower everyone we interact with—our brands, our employees, and most importantly, our customers. We know we’ve succeeded when our community feels both comfortable and represented in our space. They are the heartbeat of our success; without them, we’d simply be another clothing shop. When did Komune launch? In September 2023, we held a pop-up to test our philosophy, brand curation, and business model. The positive response helped us secure our first round of funding, allowing us to open permanently in the same location in September 2024.

UNDERCOVER FW25

Titled “Interface,” UNDERCOVER’s FW25 lookbook takes viewers on a visual journey, starting with sharp black tailoring and evolving into a riot of neon-lit references to 1970s Krautrock and fantastical monsters. Jun Takahashi’s collection, celebrating the 35th anniversary of his brand, merges the future and the past, drawing on his punk roots while refining his signature contemporary style. The lookbook opens with a series of black-on-black ensembles, each reimagining traditional menswear staples like suits, double-breasted coats, parkas, and button-ups. Visible taped stitching adds a unique twist, creating a clean, reworked effect from various angles. As the mood shifts, Takahashi brightens the scene with smoke machines and neon lasers, casting vibrant technicolor wires across the floor. The collection takes inspiration from Krautrock bands, featuring a white Faust sweater and a sleeveless Moebius hoodie. The standout piece in this graphic-heavy segment is a puffer jacket emblazoned with a full-bleed cyborg illustration, pushing the boundaries of Sci-Fi fashion.

Tyler Mitchell

Next month, Gagosian New York will present a new exhibition by Tyler Mitchell, titled Ghost Images. In this body of work, Mitchell revisits his Southern roots, blending scenes of coastal leisure with poignant reflections on the psychological and historical layers embedded within the landscapes they depict. Captured along the coastal islands of Georgia, the images showcase serene beaches, dunes, and estuaries brimming with natural beauty. Yet, upon closer inspection, the scars of human history become evident. In pieces like Gulfs Between, Voyage, and Voyage II, toy boats, symbolizing childlike innocence, evoke the Jekyll Island-bound vessels that once transported enslaved individuals. Meanwhile, the charred remnants of the Carnegie family's mansion take center stage in Dollhouse. Through this juxtaposition, Mitchell challenges the notion of whether photography can transcend the visible and serve as a tool for self-definition within the weight of history.

Nick Cave

Jack Shainman Gallery has unveiled its new 20,000-square-foot flagship in Tribeca, kicking off the space with Amalgams and Graphts, a groundbreaking solo exhibition by Chicago-based artist Nick Cave. On view through March 15, the show introduces two new series that expand Cave’s acclaimed practice into fresh conceptual and material territories. The exhibition opens with Amalgams, a striking trio of bronze sculptures that merge casts of Cave’s own body with organic, blossoming forms. Building on his iconic Soundsuit series, which was created in response to the 1991 police beating of Rodney King, these works envision inclusive and resilient alternatives to conventional public art. After the exhibition closes, Amalgam (Origin), the towering 26-foot centerpiece, will become part of the permanent collection at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Uchronia

In the world of interior design, we've grown accustomed to the dominance of muted tones and natural materials (whether authentic or faux). These elements have become so widespread that it can be hard to distinguish one space from another. To break free from this trend, incorporating a touch of maximalism can be the perfect way to stand out – and that’s exactly what Uchronia achieved in the remodel of Koibird’s London boutique. As soon as you step into the store, you’re instantly transported into the vibrant world of Koibird. The brand's signature color palette is reflected in the flooring and walls, while a striking shelving installation mimics the “K” from its logo. Whether you’re a fan of bold, maximalist design or prefer a more minimalist approach, there’s no denying that their immersive, bold approach truly works.
