Artenda was founded in 2019 by artist Roland Burkart with a clear mission: to simplify the search for global art opportunities and make them accessible to artists everywhere. We provide a curated, comprehensive platform showcasing high-quality international open calls, including residencies, competitions, fellowships, project grants, exhibitions, and public art projects. In addition to connecting artists with opportunities, Artenda offers an artist development program through online video courses. These courses are designed to help artists build standout portfolios, craft compelling artist statements, and create successful applications. By bridging the gap between artists and the opportunities that can shape their careers, Artenda empowers creatives to thrive and achieve their goals in the ever-evolving world of art.

Uncool Artist has been hosting an international art residency program since 2018, offering both in-person opportunities in Brooklyn, NY, and a virtual experience through its dedicated platform, previously known as the International Lab for Art Practices (ILAP). With a foundation rooted in over 15 years of expertise in artist education and research, the program focuses on fostering the growth of emerging and underrepresented creatives. By encouraging collaboration, experimentation, and the exchange of ideas, participants gain access to tailored mentorship, curatorial guidance, and innovative spaces. The residency concludes with a curated exhibition, providing a platform to amplify the voices of the next generation of artistic talent.

Since 2018, Uncool Artist has offered an international art residency program, both in person in Brooklyn, NY, and online through our dedicated platform (formerly known as the International Lab for Art Practices – ILAP).
